The Director of Programs is part of the agency’s Executive Team and is responsible for the quality, effectiveness, and financial performance of all agency programs. This high-profile position has the responsibility to develop collaborative relationships with all agency funders and is expected to have a positive presence across the state. The Director of Programs will work closely with the CEO, Human Resources Team and others as identified by CEO, in developing policy and strategy for the organization. The Director of Programs will ensure all programs operate consistently with agency mission, vision, values, policies and in alignment with the strategic plan.
FLSA Classification: Exempt
Position type/Expected Hours of work: Full-time. Monday through Friday 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and evenings and weekends as needed. In-person at Sacramento office with occasional remote days as approved by CEO.
Reports to: CEO
Supervisory Responsibility: Supervises all agency program directors, managers and coordinators.
Background Check Required: Background check required and LiveScan fingerprinting required as position has direct access to or responsibility for cash and cash equivalents.
Essential Functions*:

Ensures all agency programs are delivered at the highest quality and integrate trauma-informed care and evidence-based practices.
Actively contributes to the Executive Team contributing thought leadership and insights to discussions, decisions, and initiatives.
Works with CEO to develop annual program budgets.
Works with program CEO, directors and Administration to ensure program budgets are maximized each fiscal year.
Serves as agency Quality Assurance Director. Authors and manages quarterly data submissions and reports across all programs.
Provides consistent high-quality supervision and support to all direct reports, supports managers with their direct reports.
Ensures program staff across the agency are trained to the parameters of their position, receive consistent high-quality supervision and support, and are held accountable to agency standards.
Works with CEO and Human Resources Team to help create a culture of equity and inclusion, manage disciplinary issues and/or conduct personnel related investigations.
Manages contracts across programs.
Ensures all contract deliverables are met.
Ensures compliance with all laws, contractual and regulatory requirements.
Establishes collaborative relationships and nurtures existing relationships with a variety of community-based organizations and public agencies.
Actively participates in statewide committees and work groups.
Works with CEO to Develop and implement methodology to evaluate program services.
Utilizes data to improve program services.
Ensures teams consistent and effective use of Customers Relationship Management (CRM) software as required for the sustainability of programs.
Strategic planning of program sustainability.
Routinely evaluates and develops strategies to respond to changing teams and community needs.
Support staff with sensitive and critical crisis management.
Ability to travel across the state utilizing a variety of transportation, including automobile and plane.
Possess a valid California driver’s license.
Participates in agency-wide committees, initiatives, and events.
Provides updates to the Board of Directors as needed/requested.

Physical Demands: Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Routine use of phones and copier/printer. Must be able to routinely lift banker boxes of materials/files. Must occasionally lift/move up to 20 pounds.

Preferred Education and Experience: Familiarity with the Behavioral Health systems across California, Cultural humility training and focus, managing community-based programs, especially programs that serve marginalized, unserved, underserved, and inappropriately served communities.
Compensation Package:
- Starting Salary: $100,000 – $110,000
- Employer covers 100% of employee medical (and up to 3 dependents), dental, vision, chiropractic, acupuncture and herbal therapy benefits, life insurance, employee assistance program (EAP), and travel assistance coverage. 403(b) retirement plan.
